    How does travel insurance work?

Understanding how travel insurance works helps you use your policy effectively during your trip. The process is simple and clear:

    1

    Policy purchase

You choose an insurance program, enter your trip dates, and pay for the policy online. The policy appears in the app within a few minutes.

    2

    Start of coverage

Insurance starts from the date specified as the beginning of your trip. It’s important to purchase the policy before you leave your country.

    3

    Insurance event

If you have a health problem, you call the assistance service using the number in your policy. The service is available 24/7.

    4

    Arranging assistance

The operator arranges medical assistance: directs you to a clinic or calls a doctor or an ambulance.

    5

    Payment for services

The insurance company pays the medical expenses directly to the clinic. You don’t need to spend your own money.

    6

    Return home

After treatment is completed, you continue your trip or return home. The policy remains valid until the end date specified in it.

Important things to know about how insurance works:

    • Always call the assistance service before going to a clinic (except in emergencies).
    • Keep all documents: receipts, medical reports, and prescriptions for possible reimbursement.
    • Always have your policy number with you: keep it saved on your phone.
    • Don’t do extreme sports without adding an extra sports option to your policy.

How much does travel insurance to Thailand cost in 2025?

The cost of travel insurance for a trip to Thailand depends on several factors: the duration of your trip, the age of the travellers, the amount of coverage and the additional options you choose.

Sample prices for one-week travel insurance to Thailand:

    Plan Price
ECONOMY plan (€20,000) from 45,000 UZS
CLASSIC plan (€60,000) from 80,000 UZS
EXCLUSIVE plan (€90,000) from 195,000 UZS
    STOPVIRUS 1 plan (€60,000 + COVID) from 100,000 UZS
    STOPVIRUS 2 plan (€90,000 + COVID) from 250,000 UZS

What does the price of travel insurance to Thailand depend on?

    Trip duration

The longer your trip, the higher the cost. The price is calculated for each day of stay.

    Coverage amount

Policies with a higher coverage limit cost more, but provide stronger protection.

    Age

Higher tariffs apply for travellers over 65 years old and children under 1 year of age.

    Activities

Sports and extreme activities can increase the cost of the policy by 20–50%. Choose the appropriate travel purpose when buying the insurance.

Important: Don’t skimp on insurance! The difference in price between a basic and a premium policy may be only $5–25, but in case of a serious illness or injury it can save you thousands of dollars.

Your Guide to Thailand: What Uzbekistan Tourists Really Need to Know

Thailand is not just beaches and exotic experiences. It's a country with ancient traditions and strict rules. We've prepared not a tourist brochure, but real advice that will help you avoid trouble and make your vacation truly comfortable.

    Money: Baht, Dollars and Cards

    • Forget about sums: It's almost impossible to exchange Uzbek sums in Thailand. Don't bring them with you.
    • Currency #1 — US Dollar: Bring US dollars, preferably new and clean bills in denominations of $50 and $100. Avoid bills from 1990 and 1993 — they are often not accepted.
    • Where to exchange: The worst exchange rate is at the airport and hotel. It's best to exchange money at official exchange offices in shopping centers. They have the best rates and no commission.
    • Bank cards: Your HUMO and Uzcard cards will not work. Visa and Mastercard cards issued by Uzbek banks are accepted in most places, but always have a cash reserve for markets, taxis and small purchases.
    2

Communication and Internet: How to Stay Connected

    • Roaming is very expensive: Don't rely on roaming from Uzbek operators, it will cost you a fortune.
    • Local SIM card — the best solution: You can buy a tourist SIM card from AIS, DTAC or TrueMove operators right at the airport. Internet packages are inexpensive and convenient.
    • VPN for video calls: If you plan to make video calls on WhatsApp or Telegram, install a VPN in advance — they may work unstably on some networks.
    • Time: Thailand is 2 hours ahead of Tashkent. Keep this in mind when planning calls home.
    3

Dress Code and Respect: How to Dress Properly

    • Strict rules in temples: Shoulders and knees must be covered. Remove shoes before entering. Women are not allowed to touch monks.
    • Modesty in public places: A regular t-shirt, pants or skirt below the knee is the ideal option. Avoid overly revealing clothing.
    • Freedom at the beach, but wisely: You can wear swimsuits and shorts on hotel grounds and at the beach. But don't appear in a swimsuit in the hotel lobby or store — this is considered indecent.
    • Topless is prohibited: Sunbathing topless on Thailand's beaches is strictly prohibited and may result in a fine.
    4

What You Absolutely CANNOT Do in Thailand

    • Criticize the king: Any negative statements about the royal family are a crime punishable by up to 50 years in prison. Avoid any political discussions.
    • Touch a Thai person's head: The head is considered a sacred part of the body. Even a friendly pat on the head is a serious insult.
    • Point with your feet: Feet are considered the lowest part of the body. Never point your feet at people or Buddha images, don't step over sitting people.
    • Raise your voice: Shouting and aggression are signs of poor manners. Thais value calmness and smiles. Maintain composure in any situation.
    • Smoke anywhere: Smoking on beaches and in public places is prohibited. Fine — up to $700 and possible ban on entry to the country.
    • Electronic cigarettes and vapes: Completely banned in Thailand. Punishment — up to 10 years in prison. Don't risk it.
    5

    Visa-Free Regime and Documents

    • No visa required: Since July 15, 2024, citizens of Uzbekistan can stay in Thailand without a visa for up to 60 days.
    • What to bring: Passport, airline tickets, insurance policy, hotel vouchers. If you're carrying more than $2000 per person — a bank certificate.
    • Insurance is mandatory: Medical services in Thailand are expensive. Good insurance will protect you from unexpected expenses and ensure a peaceful vacation.
    6

    Health and Safety

    • Don't drink tap water: Use only bottled water. It is provided free of charge in most hotels.
    • Be careful with street food: Avoid buying food from street vendors — high risk of food poisoning.
    • Sun protection: Use sunscreen and hats. The tropical sun is very aggressive.
    • First aid kit with you: Take basic medicines — this will save time and avoid language barrier problems.

Feeling invincible when you’re young is natural, but illness and accidents can strike. Health insurance in Uzbekistan gives a vital safety net and support.

Frequently Asked Questions about Insurance in Thailand

      • For citizens of Uzbekistan, medical insurance is not a mandatory requirement for entering Thailand. However, it is strongly recommended to purchase a policy, as medical services in the country are paid and expensive. Having insurance will give you peace of mind and financial protection during your trip.

      • Yes, all our insurance policies include coverage of expenses related to COVID-19. This includes diagnostics, treatment, hospitalization and quarantine if necessary. We understand how important this coverage is in the current situation.

      • Immediately contact the 24/7 assistance service at the phone number indicated in your policy. The operator will arrange medical care and direct you to an appropriate clinic. Do not go to medical facilities on your own without coordinating with the insurance company, unless it is an emergency.

      • If you go to the hospital following the assistance service’s referral, all expenses are paid directly by the insurance company. You do not need to spend your own money. However, if you go to a clinic on your own, you may have to pay for the services on the spot and then submit documents for reimbursement of expenses.

      • Yes, our company allows you to take out a policy even after your trip has started. However, please note that the policy comes into force after a certain period following purchase (usually 24–48 hours), and events that occurred before the policy was bought are not covered.

      • For Thailand, a minimum insurance coverage amount of $30,000 is recommended. This is sufficient to cover most standard medical cases. However, if you plan to engage in active sports or have chronic conditions, we recommend choosing coverage of $50,000 or $90,000 for greater peace of mind.

      • The basic policy covers standard tourist activities. To be covered for extreme sports (diving, paragliding, skiing), you need to choose the SPORT option when purchasing the policy. This option increases the cost of the policy but provides full coverage for the related risks.

      • The electronic policy has full legal force and can be presented on your phone or tablet. However, we recommend printing the policy or saving it in several places (phone, email, cloud storage) in case your device runs out of battery or you have no internet access. It is also useful to have a paper copy for visa checks.
