Mandatory Third-Party Liability Insurance for Vehicle Owners
OSAGO (Mandatory Third-Party Liability Insurance for Vehicle Owners) is a compulsory insurance of civil liability for vehicle owners. This type of insurance protects you from financial losses related to compensation for harm caused to the life, health, or property of other persons while using a vehicle.
According to the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, every vehicle owner is required to have a valid OSAGO policy.
The total insured amount under OSAGO is 40,000,000 UZS. This amount is usually sufficient to cover most insured events.
Important to understand: OSAGO does not cover damage to your own car or your health. For this, there are other types of insurance, such as KASKO or our Euro KASKO builder.

Buying a car in Uzbekistan? Learn the basics of OSAGO and KASKO—what they are, how they differ, and which policy fits your needs as a first-time owner.

In Uzbekistan, OSAGO is mandatory. See 2025 fines for driving without insurance, legal penalties, and how to stay compliant and avoid costly risks.

A road traffic accident (RTA) is always stressful — especially for inexperienced drivers.

OSAGO (OSGOVTS) is mandatory in Uzbekistan, yet myths persist. Learn what it covers and excludes, penalties, and how to avoid costly mistakes.
Select the 'Mandatory Auto Insurance (E-MTPL)' section, fill in the details, pay for the policy, and after payment, a link to download the policy will be sent to your specified mobile phone, or the policy will be sent to your specified email address. The policy will also appear in your personal account.
You need to fill in the data again, verify that the information is current, and pay for the new insurance period.
Immediately report the traffic accident to the competent authorities (Traffic Police) or fill out a European Accident Statement (if the conditions for its use are met), then contact the insurance company and file a claim for payment.
Usually, a claim form, a protocol or certificate from the Traffic Police (or a European Accident Statement), and a damage assessment from a licensed appraiser are required. For a full list, please check with our operators at the short number 1147.
You can check the status of your claim by calling the short number 1147 or track it yourself in your personal account.
MTPL (Mandatory Third-Party Liability) covers damage you cause to other road users (their car, property, health), but does not cover your own damage. CASCO (voluntary insurance) protects your own car from various risks (accidents, theft, natural disasters, vandalism, etc.).
The total insured amount is 40,000,000 UZS. In case of damage to the victim's property, the amount of insurance compensation cannot exceed 35% of this sum (up to 14 million UZS), and for harm to life or health — no more than 65% (up to 26 million UZS).
The standard validity period for an MTPL policy is 1 year. However, other options are available: For seasonal use of a vehicle, a policy can be issued for 6 or more months. If it's necessary to transport a car to its registration location, a policy can be issued for 10 or more days.
When purchasing an MTPL policy, you can choose one of two options: Limited number of drivers — the policy is valid only if one of the drivers listed in the policy is driving. This option is cheaper. Unlimited number of drivers — the policy is valid regardless of who is driving. This option is more expensive but provides greater flexibility.
