The price of the policy is calculated based on 5 parameters. Knowing them, you can estimate the approximate amount in advance.
A higher coefficient is applied in Tashkent and Tashkent region. In the other 12 regions the coefficient is lower — that's why a policy is cheaper outside the capital area.
The base rate depends on the vehicle type. Cargo vehicles and buses cost more than passenger cars, while motorcycles and tractors are significantly cheaper.
A limited policy covers 1–5 specified drivers. An unlimited policy allows anyone to drive — the price is higher.
If there were no payouts under the previous policy, the minimum coefficient is applied. With each payout the coefficient grows, increasing the price of the next policy.
A standard policy is issued for 12 months. Shorter terms are also available, and separate tariffs apply to foreign vehicles.
From January 1, 2026 the policy price increased 4 times, and the insurance coverage increased 2 times. What this means in practice:
The old 14 million UZS limit often wasn't enough even for repairs after a minor accident.
The new limit is enough to cover serious repairs and the medical expenses of those affected.
Why the tariffs changed
In 2025 in Tashkent, for every 100 UZS collected in insurance premiums, 146 UZS were paid out in claims. The old limits did not cover real damage even from minor accidents. Resolution №458 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated July 23, 2025 raised both tariffs and coverage proportionally — this is your real protection.
Tariffs are set by the government, so the policy price is the same everywhere. But companies differ in reliability — see the data of the leading insurers:

In Uzbekistan, OSAGO is mandatory. See 2025 fines for driving without insurance, legal penalties, and how to stay compliant and avoid costly risks.

A road traffic accident (RTA) is always stressful — especially for inexperienced drivers.

OSAGO (OSGOVTS) is mandatory in Uzbekistan, yet myths persist. Learn what it covers and excludes, penalties, and how to avoid costly mistakes.
In Tashkent and the Tashkent region, OSAGO for a passenger car costs from 192,000 UZS. In other regions — from 160,000 UZS. A VIP policy without driver restrictions in Tashkent is 384,000 UZS, in regions — 320,000 UZS.
OSAGO is the official name for mandatory auto insurance. This is the civil liability insurance of vehicle owners. Essentially, it is the same thing. There is also KASKO — voluntary insurance of the vehicle itself against damage.
It depends on the type of transport: a passenger car — from 160,000 UZS, a truck — from 280,000 UZS, a motorcycle — according to a separate tariff. The exact price depends on the region of registration and the number of drivers in the policy.
A VIP policy without restrictions (any driver can be behind the wheel) costs 384,000 UZS in Tashkent, and 320,000 UZS in other regions. This is 2 times more expensive than a standard policy with a limited number of drivers.
OSAGO for citizens of Uzbekistan is issued for 12 or 6 months. A policy for 6 months costs 70% of the annual one — that is, calculated per month, it turns out to be more expensive. Short-term policies from 15 days are available only for foreign vehicles temporarily used in the territory of Uzbekistan.
No, the price is the same. Tariffs are set by the state by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 458 of July 23, 2025, and are mandatory for all insurance companies. But online registration takes 2 minutes — no need to go to the office, stand in line, and fill out paper applications.
The state increased the insurance coverage from 40 to 80 million UZS — by 2 times. The old limits (14 million UZS for property, 26 million for health) did not cover the actual damage even from minor road traffic accidents. The new tariff is your full protection: up to 28 million UZS for property and up to 52 million UZS for health.
