What the policy protects

For accredited inspection bodies

The policy insures the policyholder's property interests associated with the risk of incurring civil (professional) liability in the course of its professional activity.

Liability to the client

Professional liability to the client — the legal entity that signed the contract for inspection services — is covered.

Pre-shipment inspection

Covered activity includes pre-shipment inspection services for goods and services provided within the scope of the accreditation certificate.

Unloading inspection

The policy also covers unloading inspection services for goods and services performed under the applicable standards and procedures.

The client's financial loss

Substandard delivery of services means inspection services provided in a way that causes the client financial loss.

When an event is recognised as insured

Conditions for a claim

An event is recognised as insured only when all of the listed conditions are met. Every claim is reviewed on the circumstances of the event and the documents submitted.

Court or arbitration ruling

The professional liability incurred is confirmed by a court ruling or by a decision of international arbitration under the UNCITRAL procedural rules.

Substandard inspection service

Liability arose towards the client for substandard delivery of inspection services that caused financial loss.

Event within the policy period

Liability arose within the policy period and the case does not fall under the exclusions set by the contract and the law.

From the inspection report to settling the client's claim

The policy protects the inspection body's property interests associated with the risk of incurring civil (professional) liability in the course of its professional activity — pre-shipment and unloading inspection services for goods and services.

Liability is insured specifically towards the client — the legal entity that signed the contract for inspection services. For claims from state authorities no insurance indemnity is paid.

01

Inspection of the consignment

The inspection body provides the client with pre-shipment or unloading inspection services for goods within the policy period.

02

Financial loss

The service was delivered below standard: as a result the client suffered financial loss and demands compensation for damage.

03

Court or arbitration ruling

Liability is confirmed by a court ruling or by a decision of international arbitration under the UNCITRAL procedural rules.

04

Report and payment

The insurer determines the amount of the loss from the documents, records it in the Insured Event Report and makes the payment.

Limits of cover and contract terms

The sum insured, the premium and the percentage of the unconditional deductible are not standardised in the contract: they are set individually, as in other corporate insurance products. The contract is concluded on the basis of an application form with accurate information about the inspection body's activity.

What may fall within the cover

professional liability to the client for substandard delivery of inspection services

pre-shipment inspection services for goods and services provided within the scope of the accreditation certificate

unloading inspection services for goods and services performed under the applicable standards and procedures

financial loss caused to the client where liability is confirmed by a court or arbitration ruling

Payment is made less the unconditional deductible and within the sum insured set by the contract.

deliberate fraudulent acts, an attempted or committed crime

failure to provide the inspection service or breach of the established deadlines for providing it

services delivered without accreditation, including where accreditation has expired, been suspended or been terminated

online consultations that do not comply with the legislation on electronic document flow and electronic signature

moral damage, damage to or loss of the client's documents and information, liability to state authorities

the unconditional deductible and administrative penalties imposed by the authorities as a consequence of the insured event

This is a short summary. The full list of exclusions is set by the contract and by the law of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
