For freight forwarders and carriers

Insurance covers the obligation to compensate harm caused to third parties during road transport of cargo, within the terms of the contract.

Life and health of individuals

Cover applies to harm to the life and health of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan caused during cargo transport.

Property of third parties

Damage is compensated to the property of persons who are not in an employment relationship with the freight forwarder or the carrier.

Road infrastructure

Cover includes damage to roads, bridges, tunnels and other road and engineering infrastructure facilities.

The environment

The policy covers environmental harm, including pollution resulting from a road accident or another event during transport.

When an event may qualify as insured

Conditions for a claim

Every claim is assessed based on the circumstances of the event, the documents submitted and the individual terms of the contract.

An event during transport

The harm was caused during road transport of cargo within the territory stated in the policy and during the insurance period.

Third parties were affected

The harm was caused to persons who are not employees of the freight forwarder or of the carrier it engaged.

Documentary evidence

The circumstances are confirmed by documents from the competent authorities, and the amount of damage is established by a licensed assessor.

From the start of the route to the settlement of a claim

The contract protects the property interests of the freight forwarder and the carriers it engages, connected with the obligation to compensate harm to third parties during road transport of cargo across the Republic of Uzbekistan, including as part of international shipments.

Third parties are those who suffered harm. Employees of the freight forwarder or of the carrier itself are not among them, and insurance indemnity is not paid in respect of them.

Setting off on the route

The cargo is carried by road within the territory stated in the policy and during the insurance period.

A road accident or another event

During transport, harm is caused to the life, health or property of third parties, to road facilities or to the environment.

The injured party’s claim

The injured party seeks compensation for damage, and the circumstances are recorded by the competent authorities.

Assessment and decision

The amount of damage is established by a licensed assessor, after which the insurer takes a decision on the event.

The boundaries of cover and the contract terms

The sum insured, the rate, the unconditional deductible, the period and the territory of insurance are not standardised: they are calculated individually based on the route, the nature of the cargo and the volume of transport.

damage to roads, bridges, tunnels and other road and engineering infrastructure facilities

environmental harm, including pollution resulting from a road accident or another event during transport

Losses connected with the event are covered within the sum insured and the other terms of the contract.

What is not covered

intentional acts, as well as alcohol, drug or toxic intoxication of the driver or an employee

gross violation of traffic rules and operation of a technically defective vehicle

transport of smuggled or illegally imported cargo and failure to comply with the rules for transporting, handling and storing cargo, including dangerous cargo

war, civil unrest, strikes, confiscation, requisition, seizure, terrorism, sabotage, nuclear explosion and radiation
