What the policy protects against

Four risks

The policy covers the loss of or damage to the appliance from the direct impact of these risks.

Fire and explosion

Ignition or spontaneous ignition of the appliance — whatever the cause.

Power surge

An above-normal change in the frequency, current and voltage in the mains.

Water and other liquids

Submersion or liquid getting inside — a burst hose, for example.

Impact, falling, theft

External impact, falling, animals, theft, robbery and wilful damage.

What to know in advance

Conditions for a payout

These are requirements of the insurance rules. Failing to meet them is the most common reason for a refusal.

The event happened in Uzbekistan

The territory of insurance is the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Notice within 24 hours

Theft and damage — to law enforcement, and in writing to the insurer within the same period.

The appliance was not in open access

Theft from an unlocked room or vehicle, or outside any premises, is not covered.

The manufacturer's instructions were followed

A breach of installation, connection or operation forfeits the right to a payout.

The mains are not overloaded

Breaching the rules for using electrical networks and overloading them is excluded.

The appliance can be identified

The serial number is legible, the seals intact, and the appliance is shown to the insurer.

How it works

A policy on the day of purchase — the insurer pays for the repair

The appliance is covered for 365 days across Uzbekistan. An authorised service centre handles the repair.

Price and limits

Cover for a new appliance — from 30 000 soum a year

The rate of 2% is the lowest of the three Purchase Protection programmes. The warranty covers manufacturing defects, the policy covers power surges, flooding, fire and theft.

2% rate — premium from 30 000 soum
  • 3–4 million soum70 000 soum
  • 4–5 million soum90 000 soum
  • 9–10 million soum190 000 soum

The sum insured runs from 1 000 000 to 30 000 000 soum, per the documents. A specialist will calculate the exact premium from your request.

How the payout is calculated

  • The unconditional deductible is 20% of the loss for every event
  • A loss of 5 000 000 soum — the payout is calculated from 4 000 000 soum
  • Repair — per the service centre's opinion, total loss — within the sum insured
  • No cash is paid out: we pay the service centre for the repair, or the supplier or the manufacturer for a new appliance — at the insurer's choice

What the policy does not cover

  • A manufacturing defect is the manufacturer's warranty, not the policy
  • Cosmetic scratches and chips that do not affect operability
  • A breach of the installation and connection instructions
  • Overloading the mains and breaching the rules for using electrical networks
  • Repairing it yourself, opening the casing, broken seals
  • Appliances in public and communal areas, accessories and second-hand items

More — property insurance and total loss.

What you need to get the policy

A short list

The policy is issued on the day of purchase. The documents from the shop are enough.

Passport or ID card

The policyholder's identity document.

Cash receipt

It confirms the appliance is new and was bought on the day the policy was paid for.

Warranty card

It establishes the purchase date and the manufacturer's warranty period.

Make, model, serial number

Entered into the policy. One policy covers one item.

Sum insured from 1 to 30 million soum

It equals the value of the appliance per the sale documents.

Premium paid at once

The premium is paid in full for the whole term — 365 days.

What to do if something happens to the appliance

The first day decides

The sequence is the same for a burnt-out refrigerator and for a stolen TV set. The key deadline is 24 hours.

1

Disconnect the appliance from the mains and do not open it

Repairing it yourself and broken seals forfeit the right to a payout.

2

Report to the competent authorities within 24 hours

Fire — a certificate from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a power surge — from the electricity supplier, theft — from law enforcement.

3

Notify the insurer in writing

No later than 24 hours after the event. Via the website, the app or email.

4

Contact an authorised service centre

The original certificate or inspection report is required. The centre's opinion: repair or total loss.

5

Collect the documents and wait for the decision

The policy, a passport, the warranty card and at least 3 photographs of the appliance. The decision comes within 10 working days.
