Coverage territory

The geographical boundaries within which the insurance cover specified in a contract applies. Check the territory, exclusions and location of the event alongside the other policy terms.

Global context

A contract sets geographical coverage boundaries, which do not necessarily match the vehicle registration or repair location. Check territory separately from the policy period.

Context in Uzbekistan

The default territory in EUROASIA's KASKO offer is the Republic of Uzbekistan. Before travelling beyond it, check suitable cover and formal terms rather than assuming an automatic extension.

Detailed Explanation

Your policy is paid for and still in force, and you are planning to drive abroad. Will it cover damage to the car along the whole route? The policy period alone cannot answer that: you also need to check the coverage territory.

Coverage territory means the geographical boundaries within which the cover specified in a contract applies. It may be a country, a list of countries or another area defined in the terms. Even within it, payment depends on the risk, insured property and other policy conditions.

Put simply:

  • A policy in force does not necessarily cover events in every country.
  • In the motor examples below, where damage happened matters, rather than where the car is later repaired.
  • Payment or vehicle registration alone does not establish cover outside the stated territory.

Where to find the boundaries

Find the territory clause in the policy, rules and appendices. The insurance policy summary helps explain the main fields. Check exclusions and special conditions as well as the general list of countries.

In EUROASIA's KASKO offer, the default territory is the Republic of Uzbekistan. Do not apply this rule to every other product or assume that crossing a border automatically extends your contract.

Why the repair location does not replace the event location

For these motor examples, the review considers where the damage occurred. The owner's address, vehicle registration and the garage issuing an invoice do not by themselves establish that the event fell within the coverage territory.

If the car was damaged outside the agreed territory, later repairs in Uzbekistan do not change the location of the incident. A repair invoice without information about the event does not replace checking its circumstances either. Report the actual facts, without changing an address to fit the policy.

What to check before the trip

  1. Compare your entire route, including transit, with your contract's territory and exclusions.
  2. Check the insurance period, car and selected risks: geography is only one condition.
  3. Ask the insurer whether suitable cover is available for the route and how to arrange it. Do not assume every product can be extended.
  4. If a change is agreed, obtain the formal terms and check when they take effect. Keep the documents before departure.

Do not treat a conversation or payment alone as sufficient confirmation of new boundaries. Separately check the notification procedure, required documents and contacts in case of damage. Entry requirements and compulsory insurance in another country must be checked separately; this article does not determine them.

Is every assistance service available throughout the territory

The territory of the main cover does not promise every additional service everywhere. Check the terms for towing, taxis and other assistance: what is included, who provides it and how to obtain approval. Do not book assistance expecting payment solely because the car is within a covered country.

The guide to KASKO programmes helps compare protection. Check service arrangements and reimbursement conditions against your own contract.

What to do if the damage location is unclear

Keep photos, coordinates, road information, the route and incident documents. Tell the insurer the known circumstances and ask what evidence is missing. A coverage conclusion cannot be based in advance solely on where the claim was submitted or the damage discovered.

The term helps before a long trip and when making a claim. Check territory alongside the period, risks and exclusions. If a coverage boundary or the event location is unclear, establish the facts and ask which contract term applies.

All three stories below are fictional. Amounts and terms are illustrative: these are not actual EUROASIA payouts or the conditions of a particular programme.

Practical examples

Story 1: an event inside the coverage territory

Situation:

Illustrative example. Nodira from Tashkent has a policy covering Uzbekistan. A covered collision occurred in Tashkent, causing damage of 2 000 000 sum. The period and activation conditions are met, there is no deductible and the limit is sufficient.

Solution:

The insurer checked the place, circumstances and damage, and paid 2 000 000 sum. The territorial condition was met together with the other contract terms.

Story 2: the event location needs evidence

Situation:

Illustrative example. Aziz from Samarkand reported damage along a route in a border area, with repairs assessed at 3 000 000 sum. His policy territory is Uzbekistan, but the exact location of the event has not yet been established.

Solution:

Aziz provided the route, photos and available coordinates for review. The decision depends on the established location and other contract terms; neither payment nor denial is promised in advance.

Story 3: local repairs do not change the event location

Situation:

Illustrative example. Bekzod from Andijan had an accident outside Uzbekistan. His hypothetical policy covers events only within Uzbekistan. The car is later repaired in Uzbekistan for 4 000 000 sum.

Solution:

The event is outside the territory of the hypothetical policy and is not covered by it. Transporting the car and an invoice from a local garage do not move the accident into the covered country.

Most Popular Terms

Traffic accident

This is a road incident in which harm was caused to people, vehicles, roads, structures, or other property.

European accident report

This is a simplified procedure for recording a traffic accident without calling traffic police, when the drivers themselves document the circumstances for insurance settlement.

Comprehensive Car Insurance (KASKO)

KASKO is insurance that protects not someone else’s car, but your own. Put very simply, it is like a financial safety cushion for your vehicle: if there is an accident, a broken window, parking damage, a fallen tree, or even theft, the insurance company can take on part of the big expenses. The main idea is simple: KASKO helps you avoid facing major car-related costs alone.

Motor Third-Party Liability

Motor Third-Party Liability is an obligation to compensate for harm caused to other people or their property through the use of a vehicle. Who is responsible for the harm is determined by law and the circumstances of the incident.

Auto loan (car purchase loan insurance)

Insurance for a car loan is protection connected not just with the car itself, but with buying that car on credit. Put very simply, the bank gives money for the vehicle and wants to be sure that both the car and the repayment process remain protected. That is why insurance often comes together with a car loan: it helps reduce risks both for the bank and for the borrower if something serious happens to the car.

EURO KASKO

This is a modular car insurance product in which the vehicle owner chooses which parts of the car and which risks to insure.
